Inspect and clean or replace filters and dust bags regularly. Dirty filters reduce airflow and strain the system.


Step 4: Inspect Ductwork


Listen for whistling or hissing sounds that indicate leaks. Feel for air escaping around joints. Tighten or reseal connections as needed.


Step 5: Test Blast Gates and Tool Ports


Ensure blast gates fully open and close without obstruction. Check tool ports for blockages or damage.


Step 6: Examine the Dust Collector Fan and Motor


Turn off power and inspect the fan blades for damage or dust buildup. Clean blades carefully. Verify the motor runs smoothly without unusual noise or vibration.

  • Keep duct runs as short and straight as possible
